Hillcrest Baptist Church

Weekly Opportunities for Spiritual Growth

Sunday

L.I.F.E. Groups (Sunday School)
An hour of Bible study and time for fellowship is offered for all age groups on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.

New Member Orientation
This is a two session class that meets during the Sunday school hour and is a prerequisite for joining Hillcrest.

Sunday Worship Service at 10:25 a.m.
Our worship services on Sunday at 10:25 a.m. are inviting, inspiring and uplifting… drawing attendees into an encounter with God as we experience His grace, love, and hope through authentic, meaningful moments of worship.

Mission Friends, G.A.'s., and R.A.'s
Our children's mission programs for ages four years through sixth grade are held from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. They not only learn about missions and missionaries, but also get involved in mission projects.

Small Groups
Our goal is that the lives of individuals and families will be transformed through a relational ministry built on studying biblical principles, applying those principles in daily life, and being held accountable by fellow believers. One way to insure this happens in your life is to be involved in some type of small group study. Many are offered during Sunday evenings at 5:00 p.m.; others establish their own times to meet each week; those will be posted as they are made.

Wednesday

Fellowship Supper
Come dine with us in the fellowship hall on Wednesday between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. Prices are minimal and there is a family limit for cost. A varied menu is planned; there is sure to be something for even the pickiest of eaters. It is an excellent time to make new friends and fellowship with others.

Prayer Meeting
If you have a heart for prayer and a love for others, you are invited to attend our prayer meeting where the needs of others are brought to the Lord in prayer. We know by the middle of the week everyone needs to be renewed, refreshed, and revitalized. Busy schedules belong to all of us. This is a time to stop and let God's love and peace surround you through your church family. The opportunity to worship God through praises and a message of encouragement to 'keep on, keeping on' are offered during this time.

Students/College
Christ's Café, a weekly, student-oriented gathering on Wednesday evenings, allows students to interact and hear the message of Jesus Christ. The student praise team leads worship. Afterwards, the students go out to eat together at a local restaurant.

Children’s Choirs
The Children’s Music Ministry meets weekly from September until May. It is open to all children from 4 years old to 6th grade. Children learn praise songs and present a musical at the beginning of summer.

Preschool and Children
Hillcrest believes in a strong ministry to children. From birth to sixth grade, your child is lovingly cared for while you attend any activity. Our customized children's department features secure and monitored entrances, pagers for use while you are away from your child, kid-friendly rooms, and attentive and loving workers. Children are taught biblical principles in a child-focused environment. We also have a ‘cry room’ for moms with nursing or fussy infants.

Students
The student ministry stays relevant to the needs of students by offering programs that impact lives for Christ. Weekly worship services, in-depth Bible studies, fellowship gatherings, concerts, mission trips, service projects, and retreats are just a few of the opportunities available for junior high, high school, and college students.

Young Adults
Young adults who are either in college or launching careers are extremely busy, yet in need of encouragement and biblical instruction. We consistently offer Bible studies, small group topical studies, and fellowship opportunities to help them in their Christian development.

Adults
Our Men on Point (Men’s Ministry) and Butterfly Ministries (Women’s Ministry) are strong organizations. Opportunities to get involved in ministry as well as grow in your relationship with God are provided in a multitude of ways.

Senior Adults
The Senior Adult Ministry, open to all those who are 55 and over, provides opportunities for senior adults to grow spiritually, fellowship with one another, and reach other senior adults in the community.

Opportunities to Serve

Hillcrest is made up of a number of ministry teams. Each of these teams is responsible for a different area of ministry. If you are interested in serving with one of these ministry teams, contact the church office at 601-372-0132.

Touch (Homebound/Hospital Visiting) Ministry Team
This team visits the homebound and hospitalized members of the congregation and their families, bringing them comfort and encouragement through the Word of God and fellowship.

As you can see, there are many opportunities for you to receive ministry as well as provide ministry here at Hillcrest. There are other ongoing ministries explained in other places on the site, and we will begin new ministries in the future. One of the many favorite Bible passages here is Romans 12:4-5, “Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” (NIV)

For you to feel part of the Hillcrest family, we urge you to become connected. Not only will you benefit but you will also have a part in building the Kingdom of God through your service. If you have any questions concerning Hillcrest or if we can serve you in any way, please call the church office at 601-372-0132 and ask to speak to any of the staff members or send an email to hcbc@bellsouth.net.
